How can we help you?

Find quick answers on ISA, workplace health and daily use.

Yes, for many topics, short guides or tutorials are available, for example, for setting up or using Isa. For each Isa version, there is an introductory video:

Introductory video for Isa Core.

Introductory video for Isa Pro.

You can see which version you are using based on the features on your device. If you see a bar on the home screen with environmental data such as light intensity, air quality or noise, you are using Isa Pro; if not, you are using Isa Core.

Normal technical defects are usually covered by the guarantee or the employer's programme (BGM offer) and are free of charge for you.

Should damage occur due to misuse or significant damage, the procedure may be regulated differently depending on the company. As long as you do not deliberately destroy Isa, it is unlikely that you will bear the costs.

You will usually receive a replacement device within a week at the latest. Normally you will receive the Support quick information on the next steps and estimated processing time.

If you were unable to use Isa in the meantime, the corresponding time will of course be credited to you.

In case of technical problems or defects, an exchange is possible. Support first checks with you whether the problem can be solved or if a replacement is advisable.

That can happen...
If the return is delayed, you should just contact the Support report.

In almost all cases, a solution can be found without difficulty. The most important thing is not to simply ignore the return, as Isa is often part of a company programme and additional costs can arise from prolonged delays.

There is often also the option to extend the usage phase or continue using Isa at a discounted employee rate. Support will be happy to help you with this.

Yes, fundamentally, we always offer the possibility to continue using Isa privately at particularly favourable employee rates after the trial period.

What is possible beyond that depends on your employer's specific employee programme.

Depending on the programme, you can, for example: extend the usage phase, continue to use the Isa privately, return the device, or book the Isa again next year through your employer.

If private continued use or extension is possible, we will inform you in good time about the next steps, options and conditions.

If you are unsure, We're happy to help you further Or you can ask your contact person at the company directly.

What happens after the trial period depends on your employer's specific programme.

In many cases, there are several options:

  • extend the trial period through your employer
  • The trial period may be extended at your own expense (for this, you will receive exclusive employee discounts from us).
  • return the device to us (we will provide you with a free returns label)
  • if your employer offers it book again next year

Normally, you'll be notified in good time before your trial period expires, so you have plenty of time to decide how you wish to proceed.

Wenn du unsicher bist, welche Regelung für dich gilt, hilft dir der Support or your contact person within the company.

Many people spend several hours almost motionless in their daily office routine. However, the human body is actually designed for regular movement and changes in posture.

Prolonged sitting in the same position can become uncomfortable over time and lead to one-sided strain.

Even small movements in everyday life, short breaks, standing up or changing position can help make the workday more pleasant and varied.

This is exactly what Isa is intended to support. It's not about sports or performance, but about small, realistic changes that can be easily integrated into everyday life.

No. Isa has not been designed to monitor employees or control behaviour.

Isa's aim is to support healthy working in everyday life, for example, with tips on movement, posture, focus, or short breaks.

Many people initially associate technology in the workplace with control, pressure to perform, or surveillance. Isa consciously wants to distance herself from precisely that.

Isa does not measure work performance, assess productivity, or analyse how „well“ someone works.

Instead, Isa should help to recognise physical and mental strains at an early stage and promote healthier working habits.

Always remember:

The hints are recommendations, not control.

By default, your data remains offline on the device and is not automatically transferred to employers or third parties.

The aim is support, not surveillance.

Isa is not a medical device. The system does not process medical diagnoses, patient records, or sensitive health data in the traditional sense.

Isa mainly captures workplace-related and ergonomic information, for example, movement patterns, posture changes, or activity behaviour during work.

This information helps Isa to provide suitable ergonomic advice and health-promoting recommendations.

All data is processed directly offline on the device by default. Your data belongs to you and is not automatically transferred to a cloud or third parties.

Yes. Isa can be used both in the office and for remote working.

Many users regularly switch between different workspaces. Isa can recognise different work environments and use appropriate settings.

If the question is about whether you can take Isa home with you, even though the device was provided by your employer: Yes. Isa is expressly designed to support hybrid working and working from home. If in doubt, you can also briefly check this with your company or our Support vote.

Yes. Isa works completely without internet and can be used offline without restrictions.

All core functions run directly on the device. Your data does not need to be transferred to a cloud for this.

An internet connection is only needed for updates. Isa will only download the new update file. No personal data will be uploaded from your device.

After the update, you can disconnect Isa from the Wi-Fi at any time and continue to use it completely offline.

If the screen remains black, it's usually due to the power supply or connection. Try these steps: briefly remove and reinsert the USB cable, test a different USB port, restart the device, check if the power supply is working.

We recommend using Isa with the supplied power adapter where possible, rather than via a laptop's USB port.

The reason for this: Some USB ports do not supply enough permanent power or automatically switch off in the computer's standby mode. This can cause the device to turn off, restart, or the screen may remain black.

If Isa doesn't respond after that, please contact the Support.

If Isa does not correctly recognise the table or its current position, this can be due to various causes. Possible reasons include: Objects blocking the sensor area (on top of Isa), Isa not being optimally positioned on the table (e.g. directly under the desktop), unusual lighting conditions (e.g. direct sunlight), the table moving very slowly when raising/lowering.

Try the following:

Ensure Isa is standing freely on the table. Remove any objects directly in front of or above the device. Check the position of the device. Restart Isa once.

You can also check if a height-adjustable table is correctly enabled in the settings:

Menu (top right) → Profile → Height-adjustable desk → on or off

If Isa continues to misdetect the table height, you can recalibrate the table sensor:

Menu top-right → Profile → Calibrate table sensor

This allows Isa to relearn the current position and height of your workstation. If the problem persists, the Support Gladly continue.

Yes. Isa can be used effectively even without a standing desk. Isa doesn't just help with changing between sitting and standing.

The device also reminds you of: small movements, changes in posture, activity during the workday, more mindful working habits, and much more.

Many users work at classic desks and still benefit from more movement and more ergonomic behaviour. A height-adjustable desk expands the possibilities but is not a prerequisite.

In the settings, you can specify whether you use a height-adjustable desk. Isa will adjust the coaching accordingly. If a height-adjustable desk is not available, you will instead receive other useful tips, for example, on movement, posture, or short activity prompts.

Isa also recognises when you switch your work environment, for example between the office and working from home, and may ask you if an adjustable-height desk is available there.

Menu (top right) → Profile → Height-adjustable desk → on or off

If Isa doesn't recognise the table height correctly, you can also recalibrate the table sensor there:

Menu (top right) → Profile → Calibrate table sensor

Yes. You can customise or disable many notifications and reminders.

You can change the intensity here:

Menu top right → Intensity → Starter Mode, Healthy Middle or Full Swing

You can activate or deactivate individual functions here:

Menu → Settings → Health features

Additionally, you can activate the Focus mode:

Menu → Settings → Focus mode → „Activate on Home screen“

After that, you can activate Focus mode directly from the home screen for 30 or 60 minutes. During this time, notifications will be reduced or paused.

Many users initially start with fewer hints and adjust the settings later to suit their personal preferences.

The goal is for Isa to provide pleasant background support and not be perceived as intrusive.

No. Isa's tips are recommendations, not requirements. Not every workday looks the same. Some days you'll have lots of meetings, deadlines, or focused work periods. It's completely normal then to ignore reminders now and then.

Isa should help you engage more consciously with movement and ergonomics, without building up additional pressure.

If you find the hints appear too often, you can adjust them at any time:

Menu (top right) → Intensity → Starter Mode, Healthy Middle or Full Swing

You can also adjust your goals or disable individual health features.

Menu (top right) → Settings → Health features

For concentrated work, you can also activate Focus Mode:

Menu (top right) → Settings → Focus Modes → „Show on Home Screen“

After that, you can activate Focus mode directly from the home screen for 30 or 60 minutes. During this time, notifications will be reduced or paused.

Isa helps you to regularly switch between sitting, standing, and movement. Many people sit for significantly longer periods at a time during focused screen work than is good for them. In everyday life, you often don't even notice how long you've been working without moving.

Isa's reminders are intended to provide small prompts and help to bring more movement into the working day. However, this doesn't mean you have to follow every reminder immediately.

If you are concentrating on work, in a meeting, or it's not a suitable time, you can of course ignore prompts. Isa is meant to support, not stress.

How often Isa reminds you depends on your goals, the chosen intensity, and your actual behaviour.

If you barely notice Isa, it's often a good sign, for example, because you already regularly use your standing desk, make enough posture changes, or take short screen breaks.

You can adjust the intensity at any time:

Menu (top right) → Intensity → Starting out, Feeling good or Full steam ahead → save

You can also deactivate individual functions:

Menu → Settings → Health Features → Turn Features On or Off

For focused work, there is also the focus mode:

Menu → Settings → Focus mode → „Activate on Home screen“

After that, you can activate Focus mode directly from the home screen for 30 or 60 minutes. During this time, notifications will be reduced or paused.

No. Isa does not measure work performance, productivity, or work speed.

The device doesn't rate: how fast you work, how many tasks you complete, how efficiently you work

Isa should support you ergonomically and cognitively, not analyse or evaluate your work performance.

Isa's goal is to strengthen your physical and mental well-being and create good conditions for healthy, focused, and long-term value-adding work.

For example, Isa can detect if you are exposed to strong distractions for a prolonged period, work with intense focus for a very long time without a break, or if signs of cognitive fatigue appear.

In such situations, Isa can remind you to take a short break, move around, or have a quick mental breather. Please note: these prompts are solely for your support and well-being.

God doesn't watch you, judge you, or make statements about your performance or professional success.

No. Your employer does not see personal movement data or detailed information about your individual behaviour.

For example, your employer sees not:

when you got up
how long you have sat
when you took breaks
How often you ignore reminders
how you behave in detail

ISA is not intended for performance or conduct appraisals.

A key reason for this is: Isa works offline directly on the device. This means no one can access your data for as long as you don't share it yourself.

However, there is the option to voluntarily share data with us. For example: if you allow us to read out your device on-site or if you voluntarily transfer data to our servers via smartphone.

In this case, too, this does not constitute personal data. The data cannot be traced back to you as an individual. Only abstract information is stored, for example:

Amount of drink + Time
Number of movement exercises + time
Change of position + time

No content, no pictures, no conversations and no information about what you have been working on.

When companies receive evaluations, these are exclusively anonymised and aggregated from a minimum size of 10 users. This ensures that no conclusions can be drawn about individual people.

For example, an employer might see: „20 employees use Isa. Of these, 75 percent do at least four exercises daily.“ But not: „Max Mustermann only did one exercise today.“

Our aim is not control, but health promotion, maintaining maximum privacy.

No. Isa is not intended to eavesdrop on conversations or to analyse content from meetings, phone calls or discussions.

In the Pro and higher feature sets, some features utilise an acoustics sensor, however, conversations are not recorded or stored. Neither on the device nor in the cloud.

Isa only processes simple volume levels directly offline on the device. Only an abstract evaluation is saved, for example: „35 dB at 10:42 AM“

No voice content is recognised, understood or analysed.

This information merely helps Isa to better categorise situations. For example, a high noise level can be an indication of meetings, phone calls or increased cognitive load.

This allows Isa to time hints more sensibly, for example, by not displaying exercise reminders during a meeting. The same applies here:

It's important to us that your data belongs to you. That's why Isa processes such information directly offline on the device, without recording conversations or transferring them to external servers.

No. Isa has no camera and does not record videos or take photos.

A conventional camera was deliberately omitted. Instead, Isa uses a special 3D sensor that was originally developed for space travel. This emits invisible light, measures its reflection, and creates a three-dimensional map of the environment using time-of-flight analysis.

This allows Isa to recognise ergonomic situations without generating images or video recordings.

In principle, Isa therefore „sees“ no people or faces. Instead, the sensor detects spatial structures and movements in the room.

So, for instance, Isa can perceive whether you are drinking, sitting for a long time, moving, how your spine is positioned, or where possible stresses might be occurring, without taking photos or visually monitoring you.

The device is not intended for monitoring employees.

Many users initially have data protection concerns or are sceptical, as devices in the workplace are quickly associated with surveillance.

This is precisely why it's important: Isa has been developed to support you ergonomically and encourage healthy habits in your daily work, not to monitor performance.

Another important difference compared to many other smart devices:

Isa does not require an internet connection. Your data does not need to be transferred to a cloud for Isa to work. What's important to us: Your data is yours.

Unlike many Big Tech companies, we have no interest in collecting, sharing, or using personal data for advertising purposes. Isa was developed so that data protection and privacy are part of the product from the outset.

Isa stands directly at your workstation because she can only truly recognise ergonomic situations and offer suitable advice from there.

Because to assess your sitting posture, the position of your spine, the angle of inclination, or possible strain, you need the „view from outside“. Other wearables mostly just work with accelerometers or similar measured values. They can capture movements, but cannot properly see how you are sitting at your desk or how your body is oriented in space. Therefore, they are neither comparable nor even remotely as accurate for ergonomic feedback in the workplace.

The same applies to your focus: classic smart devices cannot reliably detect whether you are concentrating on work, are being interrupted, or are in a phase where a reminder would be inappropriate.

Another advantage: Isa is directly on your desk with an Always-On Screen. This way, she can give you direct feedback at the right moment, without you having to unlock your smartphone, open an app, or get distracted by other notifications.

For example, Isa can detect if you are sitting for a long time, if you are switching between sitting and standing, or if you are hardly moving for an extended period.

The idea behind it is simple:

In the stressful daily grind, many people forget about exercise, breaks, or changing their posture.

Isa kindly reminds you without checking up on you.

Isa is an ergonomic health coach for the workplace.

The device helps you to regularly switch between sitting, standing, and moving throughout your workday. Many people spend hours in the office or working from home sitting almost motionless in front of a screen, often without consciously realising it.

Isa is intended to help build healthier and more pleasant work habits without making everyday work more complicated. It is not about fitness, performance monitoring, or surveillance.

Isa primarily focuses on:

  • Ergonomic working
  • Regular exercise
  • Change of position
  • Fokus and work rhythm
  • more conscious work habits
  • conducive working environment

Many users describe Isa more as a quiet companion in the background than as a classic tech product.

In most cases, it is due to environmental conditions or the positioning of Isa. Please check the following points:

Strong natural lightOn very sunny days or when close to large windows, intense sunlight can affect the sensor.
Tip: Position the sensor slightly differently or avoid direct sunlight.

Halogen lamps nearby: Powerful halogen lamps can interfere with the sensor signal – especially if they are directed straight at Isa.
Tip: Adjust the light source or move Isa slightly.

Very high ceilings (over 4.5 m): With high ceilings, the signal may be too weak to reliably distinguish between sitting and standing.

Obstructions in the field of vision: Objects such as lamps, chandeliers, or other elements between the ISA and the ceiling can impair detection.
Tip: Ensure the sensor has a clear view upwards.

Too short a distance to the ceiling: With sloping roofs or low ceilings, the distance may be too small to measure correctly.

If it still doesn't work: Feel free to contact our support, we'll help you quickly and find a solution together.

No, Isa deliberately has no battery.

This offers clear advantages:

  • Reliability in everyday life: Isa is always ready for use, without charging cycles or sudden failures
  • Consistent Performance: no diminishing power due to aging batteries
  • Less effort: no charging, no battery management

And more importantly:

  • Thinking sustainably: Batteries are often a weak point in product lifespan, causing additional resource consumption, making repairs difficult, and burdening the environment upon disposal.
  • Suitable for the usage context: Isa is used exclusively at the workplace, which is precisely where a power supply is already available.
  • At first glance, a built-in battery seems practical, but in this case, it brings more disadvantages than real added value.

Isa becomes over USB-C It is powered. We supply a suitable cable and power adapter.

You can also operate Isa via your laptop, however, it can happen that the power supply is not stable. If Isa switches off unexpectedly (black screen), that is usually the reason.

Isa requires a stable USB connection. If your laptop is running on battery power or goes into standby mode, the power supply may be interrupted and Isa will shut down. Ensure that USB power saving mode is disabled (Windows: search for „USB settings“ in the taskbar). Alternatively, simply use the supplied power adapter to keep Isa active at all times.

The setup is simple: Connect and start, Isa is ready to go immediately.

For a quick and optimal start, you'll find video tutorials here for the first steps and explanations of the setting options:

Isa will about an arm's length away located and covers an area of approx. 180° in front of you ab. Important: Between you and the sensors there should be No object found, so that Isa can reliably recognise your behaviour. Furthermore, you should not place Isa directly under your desktop or the like, as Isa also needs a clear „line of sight“ upwards.

Yes. Isa works entirely offline. You only need an internet connection if you want to perform an update; after that, you can use Isa offline as usual.

Yes, Isa is continuously being developed. With your membership, you regularly receive new features and improvements.

Updates can simply be performed via Wi-Fi. In doing so, none of your data transferred to us or third parties. Afterwards, you can use Isa completely offline again. Here you'll find a Instructions for carrying out an update.

Isa gives you hints exactly when they make sense, based on your actual behaviour.

You can adjust the intensity individually and thus customise how present Isa is in your daily life. If Isa annoys you (hints are coming too often) or you wish for more coaching, you'll find instructions for that here: Too many tips – or too few? How to get Isa to your level. – Deep Care

We are often asked why we didn't equip Isa with batteries or a rechargeable battery. This was a conscious decision and has several reasons. Essentially, however, it can be summarised as follows

First and foremost, batteries and accumulators lead to increased costs, risks and environmental impacts.

Without these components, the consumption of resources for the manufacture and maintenance of Isa hardware is significantly reduced.

Another advantage of this decision is that every Isa component can be recycled. This helps to minimise the ecological footprint and use resources more sensibly.

Avoiding batteries also reduces the risk of fire hazards, minimises delivery costs, minimises potential delivery problems and helps to optimise the final price of Isa for users.

A battery would improve utilisation relatively little.

As there is usually always a power socket or USB port available in the office setting, the practical use of a rechargeable battery for Isa is very limited. The continuous power supply via USB cable enables reliable and uninterrupted use without users having to worry about recharging. This increases efficiency and sustainable use, as Isa is always ready for use without having to worry about charging cycles or battery levels.

How often do I receive tips from Isa?

How often you receive advice from Isa depends on your individual working behaviour. With the exception of the reminder to drink water or eat fruit, all of Isa's instructions are based on your ergonomic and movement behaviour. The more upright you sit, the more often you change your sitting or standing position, take breaks or carry out movement exercises, the less often you will receive instructions from Isa.

Can I influence how many hints I receive from Isa?

Yes, you can. Firstly through your behaviour. The more active you are and the more ergonomically you work, the less often you will receive instructions.

However, there is also another way you can influence the frequency of hints. By adjusting the coaching mode:

  1. Click on the menu at the top right
  2. Open the "Mode" window at the top left
  3. Choose the mode that best suits your way of working and your level of health.

How do the different modes affect the frequency of notifications?

Starter mode: In this mode, you will receive significantly fewer hints than in the other two modes. This mode is primarily designed to help you gain a better understanding of how you work by tracking and reflecting on your behaviour through Isa.

Healthy centre: This mode is about gradually learning a healthy way of working. The benchmark for this mode is official guidelines, such as those of the World Health Organisation (WHO). This means that Isa will guide you so that you achieve the guidelines.

Full of vigour: Do you want an extra portion of exercise? Then this mode is the right one for you. Isa will guide you through two movement exercises at a time.

When will I receive which notification?

Isa only gives advice or specific instructions when it is necessary from a health science perspective. When exactly that will be depends on how active you are, i.e. how much you move and how ergonomically you work.

The following factors have an influence on how much stress your organism is under and consequently how often you will receive indications:

  1. Firstly, you will receive notifications from Isa if your cardiovascular and metabolic activity drops sharply due to inactivity (lack of exercise). How long this lasts depends on how much you move. Here is a scientifically based example to illustrate this: Assume you sit at your desk for 60 minutes without stopping to sit down. During this time, your metabolic activity drops by up to 90%. One of the consequences of this would be that the nutrient supply in your body is no longer sufficiently guaranteed. Possible consequences include mental and physical symptoms of exhaustion, muscle tension or headaches. In the long term, this can also lead to diabetes, obesity, depression or cancer.
  2. On the other hand, you will receive indications from Isa if your musculoskeletal system, i.e. bones, joints, cartilage and muscles, are under strain. These must be constantly loaded and unloaded so that the cell structures do not break down and are adequately supplied with blood. Regardless of whether you are sitting or standing ergonomically, certain areas are always subjected to too much or too little strain. This is why it is important to vary your posture. Of course, an unergonomic posture puts more strain on some areas than an unergonomic posture, which is why this factor has a strong influence on how often Isa suggests an adjustment.

Deep Care companion app

The Deep Care app is currently undergoing a major overhaul and is therefore unfortunately not available at the moment. For this reason, your Isa is currently unable to connect to your smartphone.

As soon as the app is functional again, you will automatically receive a notification from us.

To calibrate the sit/stand detection

Isa's sit/stand detection is based on an upward-facing sensor that uses the distance to the ceiling as a reference value to determine whether you are sitting or standing.

Make sure that your Isa is calibrated for your workplace. This calibration needs to be done every time you are in a new room. For example, if you use Isa both in the office and at home, you will need to calibrate Isa once for each of these locations.

To calibrate, move your height-adjustable desk up and down 2 to 3 times to calibrate your Isa correctly. Make sure that the desk remains in one position for about 10 seconds each time.

Please take another look at our Introductory video to.

What external factors can affect the function of the desktop sensor?
  • Strong natural light:
On very sunny days or if your Isa is located directly next to large windows, strong sunlight can affect the sensor.
  • Halogen bulbs in the neighbourhood:
Strong halogen lamps can interfere with the sensor signal, especially if they are close to Isa or shine directly onto the sensor.
  • Very high ceilings (over 4.5 metres):
With very high ceilings, the signal from the distance sensor may be too weak to enable precise detection.
  • Obstacles in the sensor's field of vision:
Hanging lamps, chandeliers or other objects located between Isa and the ceiling can impair detection.
  • Too short a distance to the ceiling:
This can occur, for example, with sloping ceilings (pitched roofs) if the distance to the ceiling is too small.
